25 Years after the murder of 14 innocent men during an anti-interment rally on the streets of Derry by British troops the Bloody Sunday Trust was launched.

The Trust is a Derry based history and educational project established to commemorate the events of Bloody Sunday, and to preserve the memory of those murdered that day.

"The advancement of the education of the general public to raise greater awareness and understanding of their heritage and to compile archival materials publicly accessible in the advancement of human and civil rights, tolerance and diversity throughout the island of Ireland and internationally."

'Sunday' is a dramatised reconstruction of events between 1968 and 1973. Although there have been minor changes to chronology and certain events have been dramatised to aid clarity, this drama is based entirely on fact using British Government documents, interviews, eyewitness reports and court transcripts. The film was screened on Channel 4 on Monday 28 January 2002.

More information on the film is available at www.sundayfilm.net

Channel 4 also asked two academics – a professor of politics with a background in Derry and a professor of modern history with a speciality in Irish military history – to look at Jimmy McGovern's drama-documentary Sunday. Their opinions are available here.

Cúnamh is a community based and led project established by the Bogside & Brandywell Initiative (BBI) in 1997 and funded through the Peace and Reconciliation Programme. It is designed to address the lack of support currently available to victims/survivors of political conflict.

Cúnamh was specifically asked by the family and relatives of those killed and wounded during Bloody Sunday to assist in addressing the emotional traumas that the Saville Inquiry into Bloody Sunday brings.

The counselling and support service acts as a base for all the city-wide community to come together for support and share on their experiences of Bloody Sunday.

In an attempt to determine what the Free Derry Wall means to people, the Bloody Sunday Trust, Bluebell Arts Project and Rossville Historical Society, together with Guildhall Press, are inviting people to respond to the question, “What does Free Derry Wall mean to you?” Responses should consist of 80-100 words and can be sent to colm@bloodysundaytrust.org . It is our intention to produce a publication devoted to Free Derry Wall with these responses. Click here for more info..................
